Prague Day 2 & Cousin Sue arrives safely

We started our day with a leisurely stroll to find somewhere for b´fast. It was so enjoyable as we felt we had the place to ourselves. (The day tripping tourists arrive in their hordes from around 9am) There were so many groups of school kids and teens obviously on school study trips that we lost count. We think they were approx 50% of the tourists in Prague at any one time we were there)

Sue arrived late morning and after catching up over tea in the apt we headed off for morning tea as Sue was starving, then more exploring. As you can see by this pic we had to have a small beer with our lunch.

We came across this gorgeous building and after having a peek inside, with great envy at the dinners enjoying the fabulous surroundings, we decided to join them and as we entered to the sound of the pianist playing suitably complimentary music we knew we had made the right decision for an afternoon tea stop. (yes alot of eating happened this day... we couldn´t resist!!)

Here is a picture of the outside of the building as well as one of chandeliers and Mark & I with our warm Apple Strudel and coffee in front of us.

The ambience was absolutely fab and we delayed leaving for as long as we could. Mark says the mens room was amazingly fitted out with terrazzo and marble.

After a break back at the apt (over local sparkling wine.. french champers was not available in Czech Republic) we strolled a whole 20m from our front door to another local restaurant. Sue was very tired by this stage but determined to keep going. Though she had travelled business class 24 hrs flying will take it out of anyone.

Before taking Sue home we went for a night stroll over Charles bridge to let our food settle. The lighting of all the buildings in town was so well done. It was obvious to me they had a professional lighting consultant involved to achieve the results they got.

The famous Charles Bridge... remember the painting in the stair well, does it do justice? With all that temptable food, can you fit into your clothes still? Heard Prague was wonderful and sure sound like it. Enjoy much love , both wellm here.
