We`re here in Osaka!

After a delay of an hour leaving the Gold Coast, we were finally on our way, to Osaka. The plane was far from full which meant I skipped across the aisle and claimed the 4 x empty seats opposite. This meant I could spread my junk out and also lay down to nap a couple of times. Pure luxury in the world of economy travel.

As Mark can easily sleep sitting up he stayed in our 2 original seats, being, an aisle and a window. We were a little unsure re flying with jetstar internationally. We found it surprisingly good for leg room. The staff were good and only the lack of available food was a let down.

As soon as we stepped off the plane we could feel the humidity. OMG... so humid here! Its also showering on and off to ensure the moisture in the air is maintained.

With the adivce from the info centre at the train station we walked to our hotel arriving finally at 10:30pm. We are one hr different to east Australia, so therefore 11:30pm your time.

we had to walk through some very busy areas and it was fun and interesting to see everyone out on Friday night. Our hotel is in an interesting area. Yes it is called Hotel Kinki, but it came with good reviews and rightly so. It is very clean and roomy for Japanese standards. However, there are numerous people on the street trying to `offer` the passing business men services. It is obvious from the brochures they are holding what services are being offered. It does ot feel at all dangerous and everyone is just laughing and having fun.
Well I seem to have hit a button here that has stuffed up the text. All I can seem to change is typing like this or like ティ居エアふぁ。

We are off now this morning in search of breakfast. Then hopefully to find the ffloating gardens which are on a platform between two highrise buildings. With the heat being as it is we may also veture underground to the largest underground living/ shopping/ area in japan.

Good to see you've arrived safely...& maybe even well rested!!
Enjoy your Kinki & it's probably a good idea to have some respite from the humidity...is it going to be like that everywhere??

Stay safe...love Tina & John XX

Nice update! so far so good by the sounds of it. Yes that humidity knocked me about, hoprfully those huge forsets you're about to see are beginning to turn the gold and red you've timed your travels for.

After a huge business lunch with Steve yesterday we stayed over at friends of his. they have 4 kids uner 9 and another one due this week, what fun since they are a well brought up tribe. It was such a delight (and welcome change) to wake up to a grey sky and view of a lovely bush block However with a little drizzle on their porcelain tiles this morning, Steve slipped and hit his back coming down the stairs and I thought I'd be calling an ambulance! Thank God he hopped up and seems to be remarkably well, I'm watching him like a hawke just in case.

Well I'm back to Melbourne next Sunday with no plans of returning to Qld. My career break has run its course and I now need to focus on my business however reluctant I feel about returning to full time work! There is no Melbourne position stitched up yet for S so this is going to be a challenge.

Clearly me wanting grey skies must mean I'm homesick for lovely Melb. & it will be great to have everyone close again.

Hi to Acco if you see her, what did you choose for brekky? Make sure to have some of that light-as-a-feather rolled cake for me won't you? love m
