Kyoto - random pics and comments

Fushimi Inari - Taisha Shrine - Over 1000 Tori gates leading up to a buddhist cemetry
Chion-In Temple Gardens - very beautiful
Chion-In Temple Gardens - Mark taking stone path across lake
Chion-In Temple - one of many buildings in the grounds here
Mark very envious of the Aston Martin DB9 being refueled at a local Shell servo. Note the overhead bowsers! The personalised service includes attendant fuels the car, cleans ALL windows, runs to the console to process the payment, Escort you to road entry and confirm when its clear to go, then they bow as you leave. Amazing!!!!
Kodaji Temple - 1 of 2 Gardens there

These are 2 of a group of 3 geisha/ meiko we came across. They were taking photos of each other!
Another pair of young geisha/ meiko we came across. they were very sweet and very happy to have us take their photo
Mark was taking a photo of a group of school girls with the geisha. I took this pic of the back of them as I find it amazing how they do their hair and the white makeup at the back。

Jishu Shrine。A massive site with many buildings and temples set into the hill overlooking Kyoto.

Lanterns on a small temple at Yasaka Shrine

One of many many small streets in this city. They are endless and so lovely this city. They are endless and so lovely to stroll down. Some of the buildings here are still mostly original being over 1,000 yrs old.

More glorious photos...I especially loved the back of the geishas...I've read about their white make up on their necks & it was fascinating to see it...beyond what I had imagined. Everywhere looks so clean & tidy...it must be so nice to travel in a country like that

geisha girls....how colourful and what hair dos and ornaments! Fasinating the white powder. That red on buildings reminds me of China colour.... so Asian. Amazed just how different each of your cities etc have been, what a comedown when you get back .Been to Phoebe's concert, that girl is so good, her arms, head movements, dance really stand out from the other kids, AND I'm not biased.! Congrats on your pics so helpful to understand all. Take care Much love

that petrol station's a bit different from the ones I saw. I saw the regular bowsers like we have so was very interested to see this clever and space saving idea. Those nifty Japanese!
So easy to see why some people think Australia's a bit backward.
ciao, hope you're getting some rest along the way.
